Nature's Calligraphy

"Snow Happens" in many places but Middle Tennessee is usually not one of them. When it does happen, it is often just a dusting or an inch or two.

In March of 2008 we had an early spring surprise that covered the ground but left the fresh new shoots of spring onions poking out above the snow. While walking down my driveway to fetch the newspaper (now on the endangered species list), I noticed that the scene in my yard looked like a mad calligrapher had run amok drawing characters on the blank canvas of snow. I immediately returned to get a camera and the results are presented herewith.
