The Palouse is an agricultural region largely in southeastern Washington state. It is the second largest wheat producing region in the world after Ukraine. Other major crops include lentils and garbanzo beans.
The colorful bands of plants on the rounded hills make very interesting abstract patterns and the area has been a favorite for photographers for a number of years.
